AWS DATA ENGINEER



Overview of the role:


This role will be a varied and challenging role involving a full host of technologies and you will be required to act as a key stakeholder in the delivery of a state-of-the-art Cloud Driven data processing and predictive analytics engine.

Working within a larger development team, you will work closely with the customer onboarding team to build data processing toolsets that will be used in the transfer of recruitment data for our research platforms.

Previous experience working on data management / transformation projects is essential and you will have a strong understanding in relational database principals.

Alongside this you will have demonstrable skills in the use of Application Programming Interfaces to integrate the ResearchBods products with third party solutions and experience of Python and AWS services such as Lambda, QuickSight, Redshift, SageMaker and EMR.

You will have a keen eye for detail, with the ability to communicate across all aspects of the business on both a technical and none technical level. Security is at the heart of everything we do, and this role will be dealing sensitive client data, therefore you must be able to design security into every solution you work with.

You will be working at the heart of data in our business, you must be creative, forward thinking with the ability to think outside the box and you will have a passion for new technologies and be given the opportunity to use them.


Your focus and responsibilities:


  • Work as a key stakeholder in the delivery of a state-of-the-art Cloud Driven data processing and predictive analytics engine
  • Work with the customer onboarding team to build state of the art data processing toolsets that will be used in the transfer of recruitment data for our research platforms
  • Build key data integrations with our customers data portals
  • Implement an automation first approach to development, supporting the various business departments to streamline their data processing requirements
  • Understand, improve, maintain and support the current data processing tooling in use within the business with a focus on consolidation, re-use and security
  • Share knowledge of the data scripting tool sets within the development team
  • Manage & process contact databases for ad-hoc and tracker studies, producing health reports as required
  • Manage and Maintain a library of standard data validation toolsets

Your skills and attributes:


Essential Skills


  • Python
  • Scripting skills with experience and knowledge of the various libraries to aid in data processing
  • Maker.
  • A Strong understanding in relational database principles
  • ETL – With good understanding of star schemas / Kimball methodology
  • Querying, aggregation and transformation of data using SQL, with flexibility to use different flavours of SQL
  • Demonstrable skills in Data Migration
  • Previous experience working on data management / transformation projects
  • Keen eye for detail and ability to communicate on both a technical and non-technical level
  • Creative and forward thinking with a passion for new technologies
